Survivor Stories

  • In December 2018, I noticed something unusual in my left breast. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 invasive lobular breast cancer on January 2, 2019 at age 46. Despite clear imaging and no signs of lymph node involvement, surgery revealed otherwise and I went through 25 rounds of radiation. Today, I am six years into survivorship. Pink Ribbon Good’s peer support community was a huge comfort to me, reminding me that no one faces cancer alone. Now, I’m proud to be part of the PRG team!

  • In August 2023, I found a lump during a self-breast exam. I went to a mobile unit for a screening and was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer at 50. My treatment included 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a lumpectomy and five weeks of radiation. During this time, my children and Pink Ribbon Good (PRG) became my lifesavers. Three of my PRG drivers were breast cancer survivors, and their stories gave me comfort during my rides to treatment. Now, I’m taking things one step at a time, grateful for the support and how far I’ve come.

  • When my youngest son was just 6 months old, I started having difficulty with breastfeeding and found a large mass in my left breast at age 37. I was diagnosed shortly after with stage 3 ER/PR Positive, HER-2 Negative breast cancer. I started chemo right away while still taking care of my family of 7 including 5 children at home. PRG helped our family so much by providing meals and cleaning supplies. Not having to think about cooking was a blessing. I am so grateful that I have not traveled this road alone because of PRG. And i’m so honored to be a part of this amazing community of survivors.

  • When I was 38 and my son was only 15 months old, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer in October 2021. I didn’t have any family history of ovarian cancer and I had very few risk factors. I relied heavily on my family to care for my baby boy, provide meals, cleaning and transportation — which led me to Pink Ribbon Good. The main service I relied on PRG for was the meals and it was a huge relief knowing that I had something healthy and convenient to eat, especially when I wasn’t feeling well after treatment.

  • My story began in late November 2023 when I discovered a pea-sized lump during a self-exam. By February, I was starting the first of six chemotherapy treatments for ER/PR, HER2 Triple Positive breast cancer. I continued working, managing my family, and maintaining my mental and spiritual health throughout treatment. I connected with new support groups, like PRG, which became essential to my journey. My strength comes from my community, inner resilience, and Pink Ribbon Good. PRG connected me with survivors who offered invaluable guidance and hope.
